Supplements are things you put into your body to achieve a desired outcome. Omega-3 fish oils are a supplement used by some people to improve cognitive function. Vitamin C is used to avoid diseases like scurvy.
Supplements will play an important role in your cancer plan. They can target pathways, improve immune response, and in some cases, actually target and directly kill cancer cells.
In general, when I talk about supplements I'm often referring to botanical supplements, or those that come from plants.
Those might include the actual plant (like a mushroom), or an extract from that plant (like AHCC).
My definition of supplements also includes vitamins and minerals, which many of us take ("supplement") already.
Knowing which supplements to take can be confusing. There are so many, with so many different purposes.
There are a few important ones that I've determined are proven safe, and proven to improve cancer outcomes and quality of life in both clinical and pre-clinical settings. They are:

2. [AHCC](../3.%20Treatments/3.3%20%20Supplements/AHCC%20(shiitake%20mushroom).md)
3. [EGCG](../3.%20Treatments/3.3%20%20Supplements/EGCG%20(green%20tea).md)
4. Vitamin D
